Message From Native Spiritual EldersTeachingsThe concept of teachings, as it was shown to me, is one that is Central to walking in harmony, and Living ones harmony. This is not something that can be easily gained from reading but entails much, much more. So, I have prayed and asked Spirit if and how and why to share teachings. I needed to know why and needed permission before proceeding. Teachings come in two main ways, as gifts unasked for but percieved by an elder or teacher as being deserved and knowledge or skills intentionally asked for and usually accompanied by tobacco. I was taught that the tabacco is both a gift and more. It takes the exchange to a higher, sacred level. It is very hard to fully understand, unless you've lived in harmony, been around someone living in harmony or been raised in a culture that saw and addressed Spirit in all of life, how important the spiritual component is. Even by using the word component I'm putting in division thats not there. Lets just say that by the giving and recieving of tobacco one is asking Spirit for inspiration in the giving of the teaching and the recieving of the teaching. This is not possible here but perhaps something you see here will speak to you and you will seek out an elder and/or teacher, give tobacco from you heart and enter into the sacred. With Creators help and hard work we try and live in the sacred and walk in harmony. We work until it's no longer work and try until we don't need to try. Thank You for giving me reason to ask for this understanding.William Wereley ----May 1999 |
